Welcome to the Barrels By Design website.  We would like to start of by introducing ourselves and provide a bit of background to our products and business.

Our small boutique artisan business was started in 2002 by us (Ashley & Tamara Clarence).  It began as a hobby whilst taking some time off from previous business commitments.  It all began in the 150 year old cellar of Tam’s grandparents’ house which we were living in at the time.  The old run down house was full of character and rich history of the Barossa.  This traditional foundation formed the basis of Barrels By Designs contemporary and unique product range.

Inspiration for the names of their designs came from living and working in Regional and Outback Australia, as well as traditional Barossa influences.  By 2004 we had opened their first showroom, done several export orders, established a website, sent items all over Australia and featured in Country Style Magazine.  Our Barrels by Design team of 2 developed over 100 different designs and items for sale over the past 6 years.  The majority of items have been custom made to meet customers’ requirements.

The end of March 2006 saw us close our showroom and workshop in Tanunda, SA  as we moved interstate for work commitments.  The business has continued to have a website presence, focussing on Port Keg and accessory sales.  The business runs on a part time basis only.
